Goodbye Germany

Goodbye Germany

The last few days came thick and fast:

  • Leaving do at work
  • Handing over the flat
  • Ticking off the last items on a never-ending to-do list
  • The last visit to Sukie’s Cake Shop
  • Saying goodbye back home

Farewell to Karlsruhe

Our plan to manage a house move in a Suzuki Swift also meant that we sold, gave away and disposed of all our worldly goods. Only the most personal and most necessary things were to have the honour of being stored in Bad Zwischenahn.

In the end one Suzuki Swift load turned into rather more - although we still have the feeling that we own nothing at all:

One car load on our last visit home, one car load on Jan’s parents’ last visit to Karlsruhe, seven moving boxes sent by post - only to hire a car in one final push after all, and move to Bad Zwischenahn with two cars…

All empty…
All empty…
And goodbye, Karlsruhe!
And goodbye, Karlsruhe!
